Job summary:

There is an exciting opportunity to join the group who administers and supports the HR needs within Dstl.

As a People Security and Resilience Business Assurance Lead you will be responsible for providing leadership within a professional administration support capability with a focus on Human Resources (HR), specifically around the recruitment and onboarding of new employees and the administration of Learning and Development being booked by Dstl employees.

You will be focused on Business, Service and Resilience Improvement, Quality Management, KPI delivery and general support of the Team Leader and Service Leads for capability delivery.

You will also provide support to a range of internal colleagues and external partners as part of an excellent end to end administration service.

Job description:


In this role you will:


  • Be a point of contact for the Group Leader, Team Leader and other members of the leadership team within the relevant business area supporting strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Support strategic delivery by engaging with stakeholders, ensuring the team focus remains on driving measurable change and improvement.
  • Maintain and develop effective relationships with other Divisions and Service providers to deliver an effective administration service.
  • Ensure agreed standards, SLAs, quality and user satisfaction are measured, understood and communicated back to the Leadership Team.
  • Support risk mitigation and governance assurance initiatives.
  • Work effectively within the capability, understand their challenges, identify opportunities and utilize their skills and experience to drive change and improvement.
  • Input and update data accurately on corporate and management systems following information and data handling requirements.
  • Ensure that Division information is accessible, accurate and controlled to meet Dstl's information management policies.
  • Raise incidents and issues when required in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Respond to enquiries and requests received and where appropriate taking an active approach ensuring a final outcome to the query.
  • Liaise with Leads from People Services area to ensure we are aligned across engagement, policy and process.

Important Information


This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.


Person specification:


We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in driving end to end process and quality improvements to improve efficiencies, productivity and customer service.
  • Exemplary role model behaviours and a passion for delivering strategic improvement, but also supporting the day to day, tactical running of a team.
  • Experience in problem solving, showing initiative and coaching others.
  • The ability to spot a risk or governance concern and have a proactive approach to finding a resolution.
  • Experience of guiding trusted, high level administrative trouble shooting in a relevant environment.
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment.
  • Experience of using physical and electronic systems for managing and sharing information.
  • Ability to use IT systems and spreadsheets to record data quickly and accurately.
  • The ability to manage up and down across Leadership levels.
