We have an opportunity for an administrator to join our outgoing and friendly Outpatients Team working for the Central Booking Team dealing with new appointment bookings and clinic cancellations.


Your very busy role will be to fully support all specialties in the efficient setup and running of clinics, following the 'Referral to Treatment' 18-week pathway national target requiring attention to detail ensuring patients appointments are booked correctly.

The team, working in an open office environment, is made up of 10 Booking staff, 5 Call Center staff and 5 2-week wait cancer referral staff, with a Team Leader to oversee the team's workload

This is an office-based role and does not require any working from home.


Your role will be to develop an excellent understanding of the Electronic Referral System, to be able to register patients using the Electronic Patient Record System, add referrals to the EPR system and book appointments and to be responsible for Cancelling clinics and rebooking patient's appointments ensuring patients are made aware either by telephone if short notice or by letter.


Your role requires you to have a good understanding of clinic codes and specialties, to understand booking rules in line with the 18-week Referral to Treatment target, understand the triage process within e-RS and enable competent bookings to either Community or Secondary Care providers and to be able to priorities workload and escalate issues effectively with stakeholders.

You will need to be confident to be able to liaise with external providers and internal management and in sharing skills and knowledge with team members to be aware of and follow the Trust Policy on keeping personal data secure, to comply with the Trust's Elective Access Policy, and actively encourage compliance from other and template change requests and restructuring of clinics
