UTEC are currently looking to secure a
Senior Cost Controller on a full time, permanent basis.

Based at their facility in
Aberdeen or Livingston, the Senior Cost Controller's main objective is to ensure the cost control function are receiving accurate and timely information from the Operations team to bill our clients in a timely manner.

Also ensure strict financial control is maintained over project costs throughout the execution of each project and maintain visibility of project revenues through the monitoring of the project budget or contracts as the scope of work progresses.

The Senior Cost Controller will assist with the creation and maintenance of the IMS procedures and toolkit required to perform effective company cost control.

The Senior Cost Controller will work with both the Finance and Operation teams to develop and refine the tools and reports required to meet its main objective as set out above.

Duties

Ensure that all Project Trackers are produced, maintained, and reported in line with internal Cost Control Procedures.
Ensure Project Trackers are being loaded into Navision accurately and in a timely manner.
Review, discuss and collate monthly project summary results with the respective Project Managers, ensuring that the results are logical and accountable. This includes deviations from prior month forecasts.
Responsible for revenue and cost accruals for ongoing projects.
Along with Finance Manager and General Manager review the month end results and assist with the rationale between the month end results and the prior month forecast.
Work towards reducing the DSO days towards the 60day Acteon target by ensuring accrued income is kept to a minimum and sales invoices are submitted to the clients in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate information on project revenue and identify when projects are reaching Purchase Order, Contract or Call Off Order limits.
Ensure that the latest information which enables the Cost Controllers to perform their task is used. This includes project cost training, cost reports, latest rate information, current exchange rates and all other necessary information as required.
Work with the Credit Controller to fully understand any outstanding credit issues and assist to resolve when required.
Keep offshore project cost resources updated in Navision via communication with HR / Operations on all joiners / leavers.
Keep project equipment cost resources updated in Navision via any incoming communications.
Maintain a strong level of communication with Operations, Finance, and other Cost Controllers in the team holding regular weekly / biweekly meetings to remain fully informed on current projects, individual workload, and any other business.
Communicate with UTEC commercial department as required by providing information surrounding costs and cost principles which may affect tendering rates and processes.
Hold a good allround understanding of contract remuneration sections and contractual terms/conditions which impact on Cost Control. Ensure that Cost Controllers have a similar awareness with respect to the contracts relative to all ongoing projects.

Requirements:

Degree in a related discipline.
3 years minimum Cost Control experience required.
Experienced in a similar position.
Must be teamoriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential.
Experience of using Navision would be an advantage.
Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
Ability to work both independently and within teams.
