Attendance Officer Vacancy
Aylesford School Warwick is a forward thinking and exciting educational environment. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our students and our community.


We are seeking to appoint a friendly, diligent and motivated individual to join our pastoral team, reporting into our Director of Pastoral Care.

You will also work closely with the Director of Safeguarding, HoY's, and Pastoral Support Officers.


Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 07.45am - 3.45pm and Friday 07.45am - 3.15pm. Which includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break, term time only plus teacher training days (39 weeks per annum)


_ These hours are negotiable however the post holder must be on-site by 08.30am at the latest

Salary Scale:
Grade F, (Points 7-10) £22, £24,054.00 per annum which equates to an actual salary of
£19,073.04 per annum
This position is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract in the first instance, to be renewed annually.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Core Purpose

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for recording accurately all attendance data for Secondary Phase and reasons for pupil's absence on a daily basis including:
  • Chasing N Codes. Managing the input of late student attendees.
- 'First day calling' procedures through the Synergy software package; liaising with parents to notify of absent students

  • Check online registration of students at alternative provisions
  • Clarifying any staff inaccuracies of registers
  • Working alongside the Primary Phase's Office Manager in respect of Primary absences.
  • Building relationships with parents/carers and having sensitive conversations where required
  • Update SYNERGY (internal database) with attendance related information received from form tutors and HoYs.
  • Support HoYs and Senior Leaders in advising the school on all matters relating to attendance.
  • Manage school correspondence in respect of attendance, issuing letters and liaising with Senior Leaders and HoYs as appropriate, completing appropriate 'leave of absence' paperwork for Warwickshire Attendance Service (WAS) & making referrals
  • Undertake SYNERGY/ Attendance training when appropriate
  • Undertake other routine procedures; assist in completing all statutory data returns
  • Ensure the careful, confidential and secure handling and processing of information
  • Work with the Director of Safeguarding to coordinate safe and well checks for absent students
  • Ensure that other office staff are trained on attendance procedures in case of absence

General

  • Carry out other tasks as reasonably directed by your line manager and/or head teacher
  • Carry out any domestic office duties as required
