Who we are
The Society of the Little Flower promotes devotion to St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the Carmelite Doctor of the Church. Through prayers and donations, friends of St. Thérèse enable Carmelites to continue their missionary work in Asia, Africa and South America.


Role purpose


The Trustees have recently decided to wind down the charity and are looking for a self-motivated and self-sufficient person with a range of skills to undertake the tasks required to fulfil this aim.


The role will include:

  • General administration tasks such as keeping the database updated, posting acknowledgements and recording of charitable donations
  • Financial responsibilities, including banking, gift aid claims, entering payments onto Sage, reconciling bank statements and preparing of accounts.
  • Governance duties, such as acting as Company Secretary for the charity, liaising with the auditors, assisting with the preparation of Trustees reports and submitting accounts to the Charity Commission and Company House.
  • Other ad hoc tasks such as liaising with other tenants in the building, Horsham District Council regarding rates and the managing agents. Arranging of Trustee and Director meetings, taking minutes in meetings and preparing the office for handover to the landlord in June 2024.

This post is for a lone worker, office based in Horsham and is a part-time position of 12-15 hours per week, initially for 1 year. Training will be provided following appointment by the current staff team.

Who we are looking for


This role will suit someone with a broad range of office based skills and experience in administration and finance and ideally someone who has experience of working for a charity.
