College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences / School of Health in Social Science.

Open Ended Contract - Permanent; Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with excellent team working, customer service and organisational skills to deliver student community development initiatives as part of our Student Support Team.


The Opportunity:


The School of Health in Social Science is looking for a Student Experience Officer with a focus on community development to enhance the student experience within the School.

As part of the Student Support Team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues within the School and the wider University and with students to offer community and skills development resources, activities and events to online and on campus students.

You will promote student representation and support student-led initiatives.

Please note, this role may require working outwith normal business hours.


Your skills and attributes for success:Experience of working within a team but also using initiative and judgement to make day-to-day decisions independently

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of organising and delivering successful events.
  • Experience of resolving problems independently and forward planning to mitigate future issues.
  • Experience of influencing and negotiating across different groups.
  • Experience of supervising staff, training or developing individuals or groups.
