We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Training consultant to join our Training and Development Team, on a 12-month secondment to support and drive the needs of the Customer Operations business via the Operational Training and Competence (T&C) framework.

The role

  • New colleague inductions
  • Delivering business area training tracks
  • Supporting our Change Managers on a consultancy basis, on prominent business projects
  • Creation and maintenance of training materials and associated content
  • Collaborating with Team Managers/Department Managers on identifying skills gaps and improving competency across their departments
  • Opportunity to develop skills in the role, alongside an experienced team
We're looking for an enthusiastic person, who is ready and willing to join a fast-paced and highly motivated team. A strong communicator with the ability to collaborate with colleagues of all levels.

You will play a key role in delivering on some important projects this year, setting us up for success as we onboard new clients, continue the important work on our TTP3 project and much more.


What are we looking for?

  • Run training/development 'academies' as and when needed in the business, sometimes at very short notice using a clear training track, ensuring that the staff know what they need to do and by when, to reach and exceed a level of competence.
  • Develop consistent standards and culture across the business by providing training and developing support materials for managers at TM and DM level
  • Build strong relationships with the management team at the department and team manager level to enable a collaborative approach to agree, challenge, and collectively shape training needs across the operation
  • Identify key stakeholders across the business to ensure a network of contacts when working on multichannel projects.
  • Ensure operational training complies with legislative changes, standards, and good practice, communicating information and knowledge as required.
  • Assess all new starts throughout the training period to ensure successful comprehension of handling policy and related procedures.
  • Ensure knowledge of Customer Operations policies and procedures and any regulated changes are current to enable the delivery of relevant training.
  • Identify gaps in skills and knowledge of both individuals and team members then recommend the design and delivery of solutions to fill the gaps to ensure that business and customers benefit by exceeding customer service quality targets.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of processes, standards, knowledge, and skills across the business in order to proactively and knowledgeably support the development of our people.
  • Maintain an expert understanding of current state skills and knowledge by regularly engaging with key stakeholders across the business, and proactively influencing and driving improvement change.
Essential

  • Experience in a training/coaching role
  • Fantastic communication & collaboration skills
  • Ability to present content to large groups
  • Strong knowledge of Pensions/Savings products
  • Creative thinker who looks at alternative ways of working
Desirable

  • CIPD qualifications/equivalent
  • CII Qualifications (CF1,RO1,FA2)
