    Description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident band 7 Art Psychotherapist with a good level of experience, to build on the valuable role arts therapies plays within our Children and Young People's Services.


    We are looking for enthusiastic, skilled and innovative clinicians with a broad range of specialist arts psychotherapy skills, who will be able to maintain clinical curiosity, engage in reflective practice and have the ability to advocate for children, young people and families' needs.


    This opportunity is perfect for an experienced Arts Psychotherapist who is seeking a new challenge in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

    We offer clinical, professional, and operational supervision, CPD and ongoing peer support with other arts therapists across the trust.

    My job makes better lives by promoting mental health recovery for children and young people who use our services who present with mental health difficulties and/or neurodevelopmental disorders.

    The main responsibilities of the post holder will be providing assessments and treatment, either individually or with a member of the multidisciplinary team depending on the complexity of the referral, within a clinic setting.

    The post holder should be able to offer a range of therapeutic interventions appropriate to the Trauma care pathway which the young person is on

    We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.

    We work closely with other NHS and voluntary sector organisations who provide services and support people who use services and carers.

    To provide a qualified, high-quality specialist psychological therapy service to individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams, in line with best, evidence-based practice and trust care pathways.


    To be responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload and to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload and the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients, within the bounds of the service operational policy.

    To clinically and or professionally supervise Psychological Therapists, Trainee Psychological Therapists, Psychological Practitioners and arts and health practitioners/volunteers.

    To contribute to and take responsibility for local service developments under the supervision of the professional lead.


    To be involved in the maintenance and development of arts therapies across the Trust, holding responsibility for defined projects under the supervision of the professional lead.

    Art Psychotherapy professional qualification
    Membership of British Association of Art Therapists

    Additional academic clinical qualification relevant to area of work

    (G:

    Mentalization Based Therapy, Mindfulness, CATT (Children's Accelerated Trauma treatment) and EMDR)

    Experience of leading clinical practice/ service development / project work
