Enrolment Assistant


Working for the University of Northampton we are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.

Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our students, assisting in daily office needs and managing our campus general administrative activities.


Duties and responsibilities
We are looking for someone to support the University's enrolments for new students

This will involve registering students, checking details and confirming their student status

Checking ID documentation and issuing student ID cards

Processing new student confirmation letter requests

Communicate clearly with student's expectations and information, escalating issues to colleagues within and across the University.

To develop and demonstrate expertise in the relevant areas of responsibility.


Maintenance of the student record system databases (electronic and paper), and notification of student changes to relevant external professional bodies.


To complete effectively the tasks, answering standard queries and issues without recourse to senior colleagues but knowing when to refer issues upwards.

To act as an effective team member and to manage own diary and workload.

Participate in cross-departmental and institutional activities e.g. student enrolments.

To develop good working relationships with academic colleagues and programme teams, and professional service teams and staff.

Maintain student's files (electronic)
Administrator (Placement & Work based Learning).

Assist with developing and implementing best practice.


The postholder will be responsible and accountable for ensuring all employment legislative requirements are adhered to including equality and diversity and health and safety issues.


Skills and experience
Experience in Administrative work

Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

Written and verbal communication skills

Dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence

Filing and archiving

Speaking to students to answer queries and resolve issues


Job Types:
Part-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 2 months


Salary:
£11.76 per hour
