    Job summary

    We are looking to recruit a caretaker, working part time, Minimum of 10 hours per week (Dependent on skillset), Monday to Saturday, hours to be agreed outside of non-core opening times.

    Are you handy, do you have basic maintenance skills, do you take pride in the work you complete, are you up for a challenge and variety of tasks? If you are looking for part time work to fill a few hours, keeping busy supporting the maintenance of our building and grounds, we would love to hear from you.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide efficient and responsive support to the Buildings Coordinator in matters of General maintenance. To include manual handling duties, upkeep of building premises, General repairs & updates and health & safety checks where required, requiring some weekly checks and admin.

    Tasks may include erecting shelves, fixing leaky taps, painting, replacing broken tiles, gardening and attaching locks to doors etc... Tasks and hours offered will depend on your skills. There may be the possibility of overtime above 10 hours dependent on your skills and abilities.

    We are a large Practice. We have an established team of 9 GP Partners & a host of varied health professionals including pharmacists, nurses, ANP's, PA, Paramedics, Social Prescribing link worker, care co-ordinators & a large admin team.

    You will form part of an existing team, working together to maintain a high quality service, providing support to the Buildings CoOrdinator.

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    Provide support to Buildings Co-ordinator.

    Support unloading and moving deliveries.

    Moving furniture when required.

    General maintenance of premises.

    Gardening/ Weeding.

    Car Park Maintenance.

    Minorrepairs may include erecting shelves, fixing leaky taps, painting, replacingbroken tiles and attaching locks to doors.

    Room clearance when required.

    Deep cleaning areas.

    Washing of pots.

    Mopping/sweeping External areas.

    Ad hoc general housekeeping duties.

    Comply with safe working practices and report faulty equipment & potential hazards.

    Checking the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

    Legionella checks Water temperatures.

    Be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.

    Qualifications

    Desirable

  • GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above) or equivalent.
  • Relevant DIY or Maintenance Qualification.

  • Experience in all types of painting and decorating (indoor & outdoor)
