Description

Role Category - the way you'll work:

  • This role is categorised as a _
_roam__ role. Roaming roles are a mixture of home and hub working with, in some instances, a degree of being out and about delivering services to customers. Your working day will be determined by what you need to do and where you need to go to maximise your productivity. This means that you could start and finish your day in different places depending on what you need to do, so we'll support you working from a variety of locations.

The Role:

This position is based within our women's refuge supported accommodation scheme in the north of County Durham. We provide temporary emergency accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.

We are looking for a Support Service Worker to join our team to deliver a quality support service within the refuge, including support around safety, domestic abuse recovery, housing, benefit and money management, and health and wellbeing.

The refuge consists of 4 colleagues, working on a rolling rota covering Monday to Friday 9am - 7pm, with an out of hours emergency on call service on a rolling rota which includes weekday nights and one weekend standby in four.

The Person:

We're looking for someone with skills of supporting vulnerable client groups, knowledge of safeguarding and empowering clients to achieve positive outcomes.

You'll have a good understanding of risk management and demonstrate resilience in challenging situations. Previous experience of supporting families fleeing domestic abuse is desirable.

We are looking for someone who can understand support plans, risk assessments, safeguarding policies, and procedures.

You'll also work as part of a team to achieve the outcomes set out by the commissioning bodies, whilst also demonstrating a Team Thirteen approach to service delivery.

A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across the region as required is essential.

The future is exciting, and we only want the best to be part of it.

So come and be part of making a difference. Great days for everyone are made at Thirteen.
