Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Control Officer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety and well-being of animals within the community.
Duties:
- Respond to calls regarding animalrelated issues, such as stray animals, animal bites, and injured animals
- Capture and transport stray or aggressive animals safely
- Investigate cases of animal cruelty or neglect
- Enforce local animal control ordinances and regulations
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and wildlife management
- Maintain accurate records of all activities and interactions
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact with the public and colleagues effectively
- Strong analytical skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions
- Proficient in phone etiquette for handling incoming calls professionally
- Data entry skills to accurately record information and maintain databases
- Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish and English, are highly desirable
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus for engaging with diverse communities
- Upselling skills for promoting licensing, vaccination, or other related services
Job Type:
Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months
Pay:
£20.59 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
Education:
- A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- customer service: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
