Role:


Biodiversity:

  • Identifying opportunities to and initiatives to benefit the local environment and manage the project from conception to finish
  • Introduce safeguarding measures to ensure the environment is always protected when carrying out our daytoday operations
  • Increase and advertise opportunities to volunteer to help the local environment

Carbon Reduction:

  • Report on the client emissions and identify reduction initiatives
  • Work with client, contract and local stakeholders to raise awareness of carbon sources
  • Work with Sustainability Manager to strategize top level reduction methods and ensure we are ontrack to Net-Zero by 2050.

Waste Reduction:

  • Report monthly on waste generation
  • Ensure all waste goes through our designated broker
  • Identify circular economies and cost saving initiatives

Awareness:

  • Build a carbon literate workforce
  • Deliver onsite training on sustainability issues
  • Content creation to raise awareness of upcoming sustainability events
  • Ensuring the contracts are compliant to ISO 1400
  • Work with all Divisions to ensure best practice is encouraged to everyone

Procurement:

  • Work with supply chain to increase transparency and introduce less carbonintensive products
  • Identify cost saving initiatives within the material procurement stage
  • Work with purchasing to influence behavioural change

Key Knowledge:


  • A good understanding of sustainability and the environment and the impact the built environment has on it.

Requirements:


  • Ability to network, build relationships with, and influence key internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to deliver presentations to small groups
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • A degree or relevant work experience

Other Key Information:


  • Working hours 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday
