Introduction:

Our client is a leading Defence organisation supporting Military communications for the MOD.


Primarily they will be supporting the MOD's satellites and ground stations, including the integration of terminals into the MOD network, ensuring they are integrated and supported.

The Network Designer will be required to own, design and maintain the Enterprise IP Networks which support this solution.


Hybrid working, likely 2 days per week in Bristol office and on customer sites, the rest of the work can be done remotely.


Key responsibilities:


  • Own, design and troubleshoot Enterprise IP Networks, driving change using the latest Cisco based technology.
  • Act as the IP Network Subject Matter Expert.
  • Represent our client at stakeholder meetings, Governance forums, Design Reviews and Security Groups.
  • Work closely with modelling team to create and operationalise Network Digital Twin.
  • Work closely with engineering team to test and integrate IP Network designs in response to strategic and operational demands.
  • Produce and maintain reference architecture and policies.

Skills & experience:


  • Demonstrable experience in a management position in the defence or telecommunication industry, ideally MILSATCOM but not essential.
  • Cisco Professional Certification (CCNP).
  • Understanding of the Cisco technology portfolio including SD-WAN, Voice, data and Network Management Tools.
  • Experience in writing and/or reviewing solution architecture HLD, segment architectures, reference architectures and roadmaps.
