I am an elderly gentleman with Dementia, living at home with my wife in Coldingham. I am

looking for someone to come and spend some time with me on a weekly basis to allow my

wife to have a little bit of time to herself and to allow me to have a break from home and

enjoy some time out of the house.

I am registered as severely sight impaired and also wear hearing aids in both ears. I can

become dizzy at times and have a tendency to misjudge steps so having someone who can

ensure my safety at all times is essential to my wife and I.

I used to make musical instruments as a profession and was also a professional double-bass

player. I still love music and play our piano daily so would love someone who perhaps also

enjoys music to support me.

I have been awarded 5 hours per week and my wife has been awarded 6 hours per week all

to be used flexibly. My wife and I are happy to work with applicants to make sure we are all

happy. The 5 hours awarded to me would ideally be used for going for walks, taking a drive

and stopping for a coffee and cake somewhere or attending a workshop or class of interest.

The hours allocated for my wife are for my wife to have some time away from home so I

would need someone to come and sit with me in our home to allow my wife to do so.

Hourly rate is £11.50 and mileage would be paid for social outings. 5.6 weeks annual leave

awarded - calculated on a pro-rata basis.
