Sheet Metal Worker in Birkenhead and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.


What you'll be doing
As a
Sheet Metal Worker you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Ensure all tools are adequately maintained before use
  • Input into the production and delivery of Task Briefing Sheets and toolbox talks.
  • Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Seeks to improve levels of safety at every opportunity
  • Identify future requirements for setting out and communicate to Engineering team
  • Ensures that the workforce have sufficient and correct information in terms of specification, workmanship, and finish
  • Ensures that all Non Conformances are reported as required
  • Ensures that a culture of Right First Time is adopted in the Supply Chain
  • Weekly review of small tools and plant list

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Uncompromising approach to the implementation of safe systems of work
  • Where possible, adopts an innovative approach to enhancing safe systems of work
  • Awareness of Specifications and other Contract documents
  • Understanding of manufacturing tolerances
  • Understands and implements the requirements of Inspection and Test Plans
  • Understands material wastage allowances and able to suggest improvements to save materials.
  • Working to detailed Engineering drawings.
  • Manual skills and precision marking out of precut (Guillotine/laser) sections of ductwork including Straight's radius bends, square to rounds, tapers etc.
  • Level 3 NVQ fabrication /welding
