    Locum Specialty Doctor in Teign Core Community MH Team
    Our professional responsibility is to reduce the risk of infection to others as far as possible. Getting vaccinated against diseases that can be passed person-to-person in healthcare settings is part of this responsibility. The Trust will provide advice, guidance and support on vaccinations and access to vaccinations where requested.
    Weare looking for a Locum Speciality Doctor grade psychiatrist.

    The post holders mainrole is to provide clinical input and support of team members of the CommunityMental Health Team which provide mental health services to adult patients ofworking age in the Newton Abbot area of Devon.

    Thisis a full time, community-based post (though interested LTFT candidates willalso be considered) fixed term for 12 months.

    Thepost holder would be supported to construct a personal development plan with thesupport of the line manager (consultant psychiatrist supervising the postholder), and will have dedicated weekly SPA time, study leave and funding tosupport continuing professional development.

    TheCommunity Mental Health Team provides on-going support for patients by RecoveryCo-ordination (Care Co-ordination) with severe and enduring mental illness andcomplex needs.

    These patients are initially seen bySMHPs (Senior Mental Health Practitioners from the MHAT).

    With the activeinvolvement of the post holder in the consultation and treatment of complexcases, multi-disciplinary ( MDT ) meetings and the triage process, this teamaccepts referrals to the CMHT or transfer patients back to primary care or makereferrals to appropriate services available in the community, voluntary sectoragencies and/or Specialist services.

    We provide mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity services, as well as a range of specialist & secure services for the wider south west region & nationally.

    Meets professional health requirements.
    Has completed at least four years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis)
    at least two of these years need to be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; Experience at SHO level or above of working in the field of General Adult Psychiatry
    Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983.
    Confidence in assessing and managing physical health problems and emergencies.
    Evidence based knowledge of General Adult psychiatry.
    Knowledge of clinical risk management.
    Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation.
    Flexible approach, keen to accept new challenges.

    This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
