Description

The post holder will be a senior and integral part of our established safeguarding team, working closely with Named Safeguarding Professionals, the Head of Adult Safeguarding and the Chief Nurse to deliver our statutory safeguarding requirements.

They will represent SPFT across the Integrated Care System, contributing to the delivery of the safeguarding agenda.


The post holder will be responsible for the professional leadership and operational management of the Trust's children's safeguarding team to deliver excellent safeguarding practice throughout the Trust, and will oversee the health contribution across Sussex.

The role is pivotal to complex case management and escalation, improved partnership working, and quality assurance.


To provide expert safeguarding advise and supervision on all safeguarding related matters, with an excellent up-to-date knowledge of national safeguarding related legislation and practice.

Manage and lead the Children's Safeguarding Team.

Represent the Trust and collaborate with all aspects of Sussex Children's Partnership activity and their associated delivery groups.


Lead the development, provision and evaluation of safeguarding training and supervision programmes, inclusive for safeguarding children across the organisation for all Trust employees.

Produce and present high-quality Trust Board level quality assurance reports inclusive of action plans, risk management and audit data.
