The role

The difference our new Driver / Handler will make
As a Driver / Handler you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

An interesting, dynamic and rewarding role utilising specialist skill whilst operating within a small team, albeit being part of a much bigger international organisation.


Day to day, you'll ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.

Which will include undertaking any driving duties as required by the contract, fuel bowser driving on shift to support flying operations, daily/ weekly and any other maintenance and checks required to ensure vehicle safety and compliance to support flying operations, control all vehicle related administration within DVSA/RAFMT/DGSA and Babcock guidelines, and ensure all personal licences, medicals and competencies are maintained.

You will also assist in the ground movement of aircraft and be a key part in our flight-line operations.

You'll be preparing aircraft for the upcoming days flying, conducting see-in and see-off procedures as well as being authorised to carry out fuel and oil replenishment on the aircraft.

Once authorised you'll also be undertaking daily maintenance checks on the company owned aircraft, carrying out pre-use checks and be responsible for minor scheduled maintenance (A Check) on company owned Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

Essential experience

  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Working knowledge of RAF/DVSA/DGSA and Babcock Transport administration
  • Working knowledge of Transport & Driver legal requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required
  • Meet eye colour vision of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations.
