We are currently recruiting a Material Coordinator to join our Procurement team on a permanent basis.Location:

Salary:
£28,000/year

Working hours: 37.5h/ week
Work schedule:
Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm; Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Overall responsibility for material control on site, using available resources to plan, co-ordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between shops according to production and material schedules and/or workshop priorities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain and develop the stock control process in line with company policies and objectives set by the Procurement Manager.
- Work in conjunction with the Procurement team, stores and admin staff to ensure stock accuracy and material control.
- Lead and review material planning for shop areas, liaising with relevant Managers and Team Leaders to determine material requirements for short and long term requirements.
- Plan and review stock records on a daily basis to ensure sufficient materials are maintained.
- Process map and set control measures on shop floor material usage.
- Ensure ontime delivery of all materials to shop areas.
- Coordinate with all relevant Managers/Team Leaders to ensure accountability for all materials.
- Prepare reports as required by Managers, Finance, Procurement.
- Complete inventories of materials and ensure these are maintained in line with policies and procedures.
- Manage minimum stock levels with Visual tracking (Kanban).
- General stores and warehouse duties ensuring stock is clearly identified and stored correctly.
- Assist the Business Unit Managers and Procurement Manager as and when required.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined, you must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility to the post.
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
- Highly proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Planning and material management experience.
- Stock management experience.
- Knowledge of lean principles (5's, Kanban, process mapping etc).
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments and projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Team player with an ability to work on own initiative.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Lean Six Sigma qualification (desirable).
- Fork Tuck licence (desirable).
