Graduate Teaching Assistant (0.2 FTE, Fixed Term) - Department of Art & Performance
The GTAs will provide support the two following programme areas:

  • BA (Hons) Fine Art
  • BA (Hons) Art History & Curating & BA (Hons) Fine Art & Art History


The GTA posts are part-time (0.2 FTE/7 hours per week) and two fixed term contracts at Grade 4 are available.

Provisionally, the working day is Thursday.


The key task of the GTA is to provide teaching assistance for the academic staff, and learning support for students within specific programmes.

This support might include specialist practice-based workshops, seminars, and general organisation and management of students and resources and supporting with exhibitions.


Key Tasks will include:

  • Assisting academic staff in the delivery of taught units, ensuring that departmental objectives and learning outcomes are met.
  • Assist academic staff in supporting and measuring student performance and understanding of learning.
  • Assisting in encouraging students to develop skills in discipline specific areas and more broadly in critical discourses.
  • Engaging students in a variety of learning and teaching methods and materials in order to enhance the student experience.
