About this job:
To assist in the full range of duties relating to the undertaking of Notices of Marriage, preliminaries to marriage and civil partnerships, solemnisation of marriages and formation of civil partnerships including conducting ceremonies, both statutory and non-statutory.
To support the Superintendent Registrar in the development of the service so it becomes financially self-supporting and profit making; play an active role in promoting the development of a high-quality needs led service.
Special requirements for this post:
Make appointments for members of the public wishing to register births, deaths and give notice of marriage and civil partnership.
To provide a high standard of customer care and ensure that all information is kept secure and confidentiality is always maintained.
Account for cash transactions/ daily reconciliation of certificates and sales transactions.
Support the Superintendent Registrar in the provision of Marriages and Civil Partnership at premises approved under the Marriage Act.
Maintain detailed working knowledge of specialist computer and manual systems, ensuring that records are accurately updated. To be responsible for making corrections as required.
To control and replenish a stock of security items e.g.
certificates and keep a record of their issue, while always maintaining the security and safety of registers and certificates to national standards.
Work flexibly as part of a team including at weekends and on Bank Holidays and be prepared to work unsociable hours as required to fulfil Registration duties and to carry out Citizenship ceremonies.

The purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive, first class customer service and advice service to the public for registration services of births, deaths, marrigaes, civil ceremonies and citizenships.
The successful applicant will be able to provide front-facing and telephone support to the public whilst being supported through trainng to become a fully qualified regsitration officer.
