MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Voids Surveyor to join a housing association based in Berkshire. This will be an interim position paying £300p/d Umbrella.

This role will involve flexible/hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities
You will be carrying out pre-inspections of void properties, diagnosing defects and preparing work specifications using SOR's. You will organise alongside the Planner, scheduling of works with the in-house team and contractors where required.

Complete post inspections of works ensuring that all health & safety and contractual obligations are adhered to within target timescales and budgets.

You will be assisting the voids manager in co-ordinating the repairs process from notification of tenancy end dates through to handover to the lettings team of void properties.

We want you to be a self-starter who will work with colleagues across the business to assist in overseeing the project management of all contractual and technical/quality matters relating to the void repairs, empty properties, mutual exchange and management transfers relating to my clients housing stock.

Day to day duties:

Working with the voids manager to ensure effective management of all void properties
Inspections of voids properties to diagnose and specify works for inhouse and/or contractors to carry out in line with the void relet policy and procedure.
Assist in inspection of properties when notification of termination of tenancy is received and organise a programmed schedule of works so that the property meets the void policy and procedure and is available for letting at the earliest opportunity
Assist in the supervision of the progression of all voids works and resolve any issues arising to ensure the achievement of target timescales, cost and quality are met.
Gas checks so that the Association can clearly demonstrate compliance with all relevant regulations and to meet our legal obligations applicable to the repairs service.
You will assist the Voids Manager in ensuring all properties have electricity and gas (where applicable) on at properties, to ensure all void works are able to be carried out. This will include liaising with external companies and suppliers and the management of petty cash.
In addition to void properties, you will work with the voids manager to oversee mutual exchanges, management transfers and tenant incentive scheme moves in partnership with the colleagues in the voids and letting teams.
