Summary of Position

The person hired for the position of Valve Assembly Department Production Leader will support the Valve Assembly Group Leader, providing shift leadership and co-ordination for the day-to-day activities in the Valve Assembly Department to achieve the required levels of Safety, GMP, Quality, Cost, Engagement and other departmental initiatives such as training and administration that are required in a production environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for team performance against the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Leadership of improvement projects in areas for Safety, GMP, Quality, Costs and Engagement.
  • Attending relevant meetings to ensure support departments' activities are aligned with achieving MPS goals and drive handover meetings to ensure efficient and effective communication takes place.
  • Provide guidance on priorities to the Toolroom Group Leaders to ensure they deliver effective support to the manufacturing module.
  • Work closely with the VA Group Leader to effectively manage and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Define, investigate, analyse, make and communicate effective decisions on quality issues.
  • Deputise for the Group Leader in his/her absence, providing overall leadership for the VA department.
  • Responsible for shift admin activities including time reporting, holidays, consumables & ERP activities, SOP/WI reviews.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support production demands.
Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong leadership skills
  • 2+ years' relevant work experience.
  • Ability to work in a team structure.
Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a regulated industry.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills (familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Ability to influence at all levels, promoting and driving change acceptance.
  • Experience working on crossfunctional and global teams.
  • A working knowledge of process improvement and problemsolving methodologies, such as "Plan Do Check Act" and Six Sigma "DMAIC".
  • Experience of MasterControl quality management software and D365 enterprise resource planning software.
Base salary £31,496 - £41,339
