Description

We design, develop and manufacture têxtile-based orthopaedic implantable medical devices that are used by surgeons globally for the repair of soft tissues, such as ligaments.

These are sold globally to hospitals for use by orthopaedic surgeons during surgery.

Brief overview of this role
To assist the Facilities Technician to look after the building and grounds, including the computer hardware.
Due to the location of the site, they would need to be a car driver and owner.


Key responsibilities:


  • Assist in keeping the site and premises secure, including attending to the intruder alarm and CCTV systems.
  • Maintain and test fire alarms, extinguishers and emergency lighting.
  • Undertake lone workers alarm checks.
  • Assist with managing the pest control contract.
  • Undertake Electrical Portable Appliance testing.
  • Be responsible for general maintenance, including decoration and upkeep of the buildings.
  • Undertake annual clean and 3 yearly cleans of production rooms.
  • Be responsible for servicing and maintenance of gas boiler, non-clean room air conditioning, lift.
  • Undertake driving tasks as required including occasional shuttle service to and from Horsforth station.
  • Arrange recycling.
  • Undertake weekly checks of the company cars.
  • Arrange the servicing, road tax and MOT's for company vehicles.
  • Clear snow and spread salt on the grounds when required.
  • Undertake gardening tasks if required.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be requested by the Facilities Technician.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Good general DIY skills (plumbing, electrical, painting, decorating, woodwork including fencing)
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Understanding of technology, including an ability to understand security and fire systems.
  • Problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Good IT, record keeping and administration skills.
  • Health and Safety knowledge and ability to work within Health and Safety requirements.

Desirable Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
In-Service inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment qualification.

Apprenticeship Summary:


  • You will work towards your Level 2 Facilities Service Operative qualification across a total duration of 18 months
  • Training delivered in a blended format, with online learning and facetoface sessions within the workplace
  • An allocated tutor will support you throughout the apprenticeship
