We are looking for a dynamic, motivated & skilled individual to join our Pharmacy Stores & Distribution Team at this is exciting time as we design our physical locations and process in readiness for MMUH.


A department of around 130 staff members we provide Pharmaceutical services to 5 sites in and around Sandwell & West Birmingham.

We are at the cutting edge of technology with Automation, EPMA and Electronic ways of working embedded into every day life.


As a department we value the ideas and suggestions of our teams and have dedicated processes to raise ideas & put them into practice.

Fully embracing Quality Improvement (QI) methodology and providing training when needed.

  • To assist with the day-to-day management and supervision of all staff working within the stores area(s) ensuring the allocation of staff to cover all processes accordingly.
  • To organize and participate in the day-to-day running of the stores area, such that: -1. Goods are logged on receipt in a timely fashion.
  • Ensuring that goods received are to specification against the purchase order, identifying and rectifying any immediate discrepancy.
  • Ensuring that goods are accurately received (booked in) onto the Pharmacy computer system.
  • Adherence to regulations relating to the safe, secure and accurate storage conditions of all stock.
  • Ensuring all stock is date rotated to minimize shrinkage or waste.
  • To contribute to the management of the pharmacy automated storage and retrieval systems, to ensure that the ward automation machines are replenished when required and function efficiently
  • To ensure that all stores area(s) remain clean and tidy at all times and stock is organized and stored appropriately whilst waiting to be received
  • To instigate and participate in regular stock date checks ensuring that accurate records of shelf life data are kept, maintained and monitored.
  • To ensure that all stores stock items are assigned a location which are regularly kept up to date on the pharmacy computer system to aid easy and accurate picking
  • To organize and participate in the safe, efficient removal of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical waste from the department ensuring that all regulations for disposal of waste are adhered to in line with HASAW and COSHH regulations
  • To participate in the return of pharmaceutical stock into pharmacy stores ensuring that all stock has been checked for suitability and stored appropriately.
