What is the role?


As Purchase Stock Controller you will provide first line support to the Strategic Sourcing Manager and Plant Management team and to ensure the procurement, stock management and contractor support service functions are conducted in a safe, compliant, effective and efficient manner.


The jobholder is also responsible for ensuring that all company targets and objectives associated with a safe working environment, training, environmental and safety compliance, facility performance, and equipment operating requirements are maintained.


What you will be doing?
Please see below a brief overview of the role and the responsibilities

  • Manage the internal purchasing processes in Ferrybridge including timely renewal of Service Agreements and the Supplier Contracting process to meet Plant Management & Procurement department requirements.
  • Manage the plant savings tracker, reviewing efficiency opportunities locally and across group and participating in group/corporate savings negotiations.
  • Liaise closely with critical thirdparty suppliers and contractors managing service provision, sourcing parts, materials, specialist services as required.
  • Establish professional relationships with key suppliers & contract service personnel in both procurement and delivery fulfilment.
  • Manage the effective operation of the CMMS maintenance system and continue to efficiently maintain the inventory system, to ensure that all materials are properly catalogued and requisitioned as required, for planned and unplanned plant requirements.
  • Manage and supervise the stores team, ensuring input and maintaining the correct stock levels as per the history of usage within the CMMS.
  • Comply with and actively participate in Company rules, local site rules, procedures and initiatives, in particular those relating to Health, Safety, Environmental management, regulatory requirements, quality systems and continuous improvement.
  • Work as an interface between, and work effectively with, the maintenance and procurement teams.
  • Responsible for raising all Purchase Orders for goods and specific jobs.
  • Manage the Stores staff ensuring procurement of critical items, spares stockholding and consumables.
  • Assist the Plant Management with outage planning, works delivery and works completion review, including onsite support during outages, to ensure all works are completed on schedule and to budget.
  • Responsible for inventory and warehouse management through a collaborative effort with Plant Management to maintain appropriate levels of critical items, spare & wear parts and consumable materials.
  • Manage all aspects of deliveries to and collections from the stores facilities and store locations. Manage all aspects of the stores held externally by suppliers. Goods receipt deliveries to stores and enforce approved inspection requirements.
  • Prepare and issue materials and equipment to satisfy work packs for outages and planned maintenance activities.
  • Carry out and liaise on routine and annual auditing of stock, recording and investigating all shortages, damage, and defects, notifying Plant Management in a timely manner of such findings.
  • Monitor status of all purchase orders in progress and provide ordertracking detail to internal customer
