Reporting to the Test Plant Manager, the Test Specialist will demonstrate expertise in complex development/certification testing of HSM products (Heat Exchangers).
The Test Specialist will work with operations and all engineering disciplines, to ensure tests meet customer and stakeholders' requirements (safety, functional specifications, quality, cost, schedule).
The Test Specialist will play a major role in specifying new test equipment to ensure that the Company will have the highest safety and test capability.
This will include liaison with potential suppliers, the specification of new facility requirements and preparation of capital expenditure requests right through to the installation and commissioning and introduction into HSM Test Processes.

Main Responsibilities:
- Delivery of Test Department milestones across projects
- Modernisation of test facilities
- Ownership of Technology Roadmap for Testing
- Management of Test Specifications and Test Reports
- Performing Development and Qualification Tests
Tasks include:
- Understand test specifications, technical documents, industry standards and relate them to our capability.
- Ensure test setups / rig designs meet test plan / specification requirements and ensure rig conformity where necessary.
- Ensure proposed testing meets the requirements of the test plan / specification.
- Perform testing to test plan / specification instructions.
- Preparation of test scripts for test data acquisition and calibration of equipment
- Analysis of test results for validity.
- Documenting of test evidence and report writing.
- Liaise with Engineering Departments, Operations, Programme Teams and external customers on status of testing.
- Work with external test equipment suppliers and subcontract test facilities where required.
- Leading benchmarking and capability studies of other RTX businesses and external test facilities.
- Support all EH&S activities and initiatives.
- Encourage the use of "Core" tools such as 5S, TPM, OTD & QCPC activity etc.
Minimum Requirements:

Education
- Degree in Engineering or a numerate discipline (Maths/Physics, etc.)

Industry Experience
- Experience in Aerospace / Automotive, lean and transformation projects preferred but not essential.
Computer Literacy
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Other Skills
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills, good communication (verbal/written) with ability to work independently as well as in a team. Experience in developing tests using data acquisition systems e.g. LabVIEW / Dewesoft would be highly beneficial.
