Are you an aspiring counsellor looking for a role working with young people who require social emotional and mental health support?


Breakthrough in Education has partnered up with a Special Educational Needs School in Bury St Edmunds, which is looking for staff members who are aspiring counsellors.

The position would be as an LSA in a school for pupils on a Social, Emotional and Mental Health plan.


The school is looking for individuals who are hard-working, flexible and want to make a difference in the lives of young people on a daily basis.

If you are a good role model who is resilient and has a fantastic work ethic then this job is perfect for you.

Applicants with a degree or who are studying to become a counsellor are encouraged to apply.

You will be able to work with third party professionals and gain valuable experience working with young people who require extra support.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:


  • Experience working with young people or adults with SEMH
  • A passion for helping young people
  • A calm and caring approach
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to make a difference
  • Ability to engage well with pupils and teachers

ROLE SPECIFICATION:


  • Working with a team of TAs and a Teacher with class sizes of 810 pupils.
  • Competitive pay.
  • Supporting the teacher to help the pupils reach their educational goals.
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons and keeping the class tidy.
  • Working 1:1 with pupils and in small groups.
  • Offer advice and be a good role model to the pupils.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm, Graduate

Part-time hours: 6-35 per week


Salary:
£75.00-£90.00 per day


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
