Job summary:


We are looking for an individual to join the accounts and finance team as the Public Accounts Supervisor at Royal Air Force Odiham, home of the UK's Chinook Helicopter Force.

This Force sits within Joint Helicopter Command (JHC).


Located in Base Support, the Public Accounts Supervisor works alongside various other Civil Servants and contractors in a relaxed environment contributing to a highly interesting and important output, supporting personnel both within the UK and on military operations and exercises worldwide.


The successful applicant will have strong numerical and administration skills with a good level of computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

Full training in the role will be provided.

Job description:


The Public Accounts Supervisor is responsible for the processing of cash payments and receipts from personnel visiting the cash office during its opening hours.

These are then reconciled and recorded onto an accounts management computer system.


Additional responsibilities include arranging the collection of cash and the deposit of cash and cheques with the bank in accordance with the Station Cash Security Plan, maintaining a supply of foreign currency as authorized by higher authority for the issue of Imprests and advances of overseas allowance, and maintaining the register for the control of Accountable Documents and Forms.


To be successful, applicants will need to have the ability to communicate clearly in both written & spoken work, prioritise their tasks and to follow standards such as Data Protection Act and electronic ways of working.
