We are now recruiting for a lovely warm welcoming school in Harpenden who are looking for an IT Support Assistant to grow their team of IT professionals.

The role is varied and interesting with responsibility for day-to-day admin, support calls, managing server technologies, troubleshooting and advising on the impact and effectiveness of different tech tools.


You will be an experienced IT Support Assistant with 18 months + experience and either relevant A Levels or Microsoft Technical Certification or proven experience.

Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday
  • Friday

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assistance on routine support calls
  • React to support requests and provide technical assistance to teaching staff
  • Monitor smooth wall and other cyber countermeasures
  • Provide assistance to the Multi-Functional Device suite
  • Monitor and provide technical expertise to the servers
  • Maintain and support the iPad Suite
  • Support the Director of IT/Network Manager in his duties
  • Contribute positively to School output as required and appropriate

What the employer is looking for:

  • Relevant experience or education
  • 2+ years' experience managing, maintaining and developing wired/wireless network infrastructure
  • Knowledge of current Windows Server Hyper V, 2019, SQL 2008/2014 and exchange 201
  • Experience in configuring and managing switches, Firewall and web filter
