MMP Consultancy is looking for a Health & Safety Lead to join a Kent based NHS Trust.As the Health & Safety Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that our services are safe, effective, and of high quality.
You will report to the Head of Health and Safety and manage the Health & Safety Team on a daily basis.
You will also act as the Trust lead competent person for matters relating to Health & Safety.Your main responsibilities will be:
- Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in developing the Health & Safety Programme of Work/Plan to meet legislative requirements and best practices.
- Promoting safety awareness among staff and organising health and safety campaigns.
- Developing and delivering a Trustwide Health & Safety training and development program.
- Representing the Trust to external audiences and stakeholders.
- Managing the Health & Safety Programme of Work/Plan on a daytoday basis.
- Updating Health & Safety strategies, policies and processes regularly.
- Addressing health & safety concerns and liaising with other NHS bodies, local authorities, and government departments.
- Delivering accurate reports of Health & Safety for the Trust's Board, Sub Committee, or Groups.
- Providing health and safety support and advice to clinical and nonclinical directorates and senior management.
- Supporting appointed Project Development teams carrying out new builds and refurbishment works.
Qualifications required:
- Educated to degree level or higher, or relevant experience in the field of health & safety or a related discipline
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Previous experience within the NHS is desirable
- Membership with the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH) at Graduate Level (GradIOSH)
- Management / Leadership qualification and/or Quality Improvement Qualification is desirable
- Recognised teaching / training qualification is desirable
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is desirable
- Project management qualification or relevant experience is desirable
