Description

As Junior Tech Writer,

you will research and write highly engaging tech news content inline with the editorial strategy for the new-look GCN website.

These news articles will be based around products, racing tech, industry developments, and more general cycling news.

As a junior writer, you will work alongside an experienced team, including the Editor in Chief and Tech Features Editor, who will guide you to create brilliant content for an audience who are as passionate as you are about cycling.

The Role:

Work within the editorial team to help create tech news.
Coordinate with the editorial team to ensure editorial deadlines are met.
Contribute an agreed minimum number of articles per day as determined by the editorial strategy.
Write blurbs, headlines and social media copy to attract new and existing traffic to your stories.
Build on an existing library of contacts and sources to help be at the forefront of what's happening in the world of tech.
Create engaging content based on key trends across the cycling industry and cycling communities.
Write accurate, concise news content for a variety of different audience needs and levels of knowledge.
Create and update existing tech content with the latest information and advice.
Ensure all content is thoroughly researched, accurate and delivered in the appropriate style.
Edit and adapt existing content to make it webfriendly.
Use SEO and commerce data to analyse the performance of existing content and plan future content.
Keep uptodate with emerging trends and developments across the cycling industry.
Create and upload content to the site's content system and social media channels.
Develop and maintain productive industry relationships.
Plan your workload efficiently and ensure deadlines are met.

About you:

A strong and broad knowledge of cycling tech.
Proven work experience in the cycling media industry is preferred but not essential
Ability to write engaging, wellresearched and accurate cycling content to tight deadlines
Cycling knowledge and interest
Good research skills and command of written English
Familiarity with social media tools, SEO and content management systems is desirable
