    Description

    As one of our Social Video Creators, you will be responsible for delivering daily high quality videos across our social media channels. The roles will flex as required by the wider team, who will work alongside you to deliver great content across all Play Sports Network channels. You will be given specific areas to focus on at the discretion of your line manager. The role is primarily a Monday to Friday role, with some flexibility required - any additional hours would be agreed in advance with your line manager, and time off in lieu is available.

    You will report into our Head of Growth, and work closely with our teams across the business including; audience development, marketing, editorial, production, e-commerce and more.

    This is the perfect role for someone who loves cycling or triathlon, and has a keen interest in the media. We will provide you with training and whilst we have a supportive and development-focussed environment, you will have some autonomy and responsibilities from day 1.

    Role And Responsibilities

  • Create, shoot, edit and produce 'social first' videos which are entertaining, informative and shareable, in line with channel social delivery schedules.
  • Identify key scenes from channel videos to use on social media and for cross-channel use.
  • Reversion of YouTube video assets to optimise for other platforms.
  • Be responsive to short-notice requests for video from other teams within the business.
  • Keep up with our busy production schedule across platforms.
  • Contribute to team meetings and develop new creative ideas and suggest new formats for our video output across platforms.
  • Become familiar with:
  • the latest video trends and social media platform requirements, in order to support the team in delivering the best video performance.
  • supporting the wider Audience Development team with video tagging and posting processes.
  • implementing our approach to working with our internal commercial priorities and commercial/brand partners.
  • using production planning tools, including Trello.
  • implementing video/post publishing best practices for our social media platforms including (but not limited to) YouTube/YouTube Shorts, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok.

    • Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required

    Skills

  • A passion for sport, and stories, and a willingness to learn about the worlds of cycling and triathlon. We'll want you to learn your Classics and know when someone has truly 'sent it'.
  • Able to rapidly edit videos, with an eye for detail to both narrative and editorial.
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to changes in organisational priorities.
  • Ability to identify trends and popular concepts and adapt Company content to fit these themes.
  • Experience with video creation: editing, shooting and lighting, in particular video creation for social media.
  • Curious – we always work to develop what we're doing, and you need to have a similar mindset.
  • Team Player - motivated to collaborate with and share learnings with others.

    • Knowledge

  • Knowledge of video editing software - particularly Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to understand and speak German, French, Spanish or Italian would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of other Creative Suite platforms, in particular After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • A knowledge of media law and knowing what you are safe to publish as a brand would be beneficial.

    • Experience

  • Experience of high-volume video editing, and rapid pace.
  • Experience of producing short vertical videos.
  • A keen interest, or background in cycling and/or triathlon would be a distinct advantage.
