About Camilla Pilton:

I am an Early Years Practitioner ‘qualified ‘Outstanding’ and level 6, plus an enthusiastic and child focused professional with a nurturing nature and kind disposition. Having read your requirements, l am confident in fulfilling the criteria required.

As a hard worker l am efficient, on time and well presented, l have a smart appearance and can confidently speak to people from all backgrounds and cultures. As required, l am looking for a position and very flexible if extra hours required.

My current position is within King Edward’s School as an Early Years Practitioner with the Pre-Prep & Nursery School on a 2 term contract. I therefore have a good knowledge of the school’s requirements and procedures for a Teaching Assistant..

Experience

Early Years Practitioner

Having received my ‘Outstanding’ EYITT Qualification Level 6, plus excellent experience l am confident, professional and reliable as an Early Years Practitioner. 

I am positive and kind with a respect for each pupil and each staff member. I am enthusiastic and child focused with a nurturing nature and kind disposition. As a hard worker l am efficient, on time and have a smart appearance and can confidently speak to children, parents and staff from all backgrounds and cultures. Committed to a full time position and very flexible if extra hours are required or cover for other staff members, lunch cover, after school, meetings, trips, preschool and additional supervision. 

I have extensive skills and experience through paid employment, voluntary work, activities and interests.

Since 2007 l have been working in junior schools, pre-schools and nurseries.

  • Worked as an Early Years Practitioner & key worker in the Early Years Foundation Stage following the setting/school curriculum.
  •  
  • Developed strong trust as a key worker with parents and children. Have become a trusted member of their child’s development. Make handovers with parents/guardians mornings and afternoons, allowing for them to discuss their thoughts, hear about activities, future trips: plus update if medications or illnesses and injuries. Summarize the positives of school time for each child on collection.

  • Creative and Safe Environment with children and key children. I have a friendly, open and fun approach which allows the children to build their confidence at their individual rates and allow them a safe friendly adult at their setting. A good listener and supportive developer of their academic and social skills.
  • Experienced in working to requirements of class teacher and assist in the learning and development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher and SENCO. 
  • Given special needs children to care for, as calm and confident in the school setting and class teacher was confident in my abilities.
  • Use First Steps daily for: ‘What l did today’

                                  Written progression of child’s development and achievements

                                  Live – message option between myself and parents/guardians.

  • Use First Steps for ‘Weekly Observations’ of Key children: Pinpointing developments with EYFS and CoEL. Write observations, take photographs and grade their development levels, and support the learning journey of each child.
  • Trips and Events have been enriching and engaging for the children. Have taken them to theatre, parks, museums, fairs and sports days: both on foot, in cars and on coaches. Have practical experience and skills to keep children safe/able to enjoy their experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality- each child has separate dos and don’ts according to the parents/ carer wishes. These can include: photographs (where and when allowed/or not). Individual passwords for child collection by non-parents. Special additional safety awareness for those under ‘protection’ from courts.

       •         Supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate child: teacher ratios.

       •         Attend scheduled staff and inset meetings when requested by the Staff & Head teacher.

       •         Follow and adhere to all School policies and procedures including child protection and    

                  health & safety practices and procedures.

Administrative duties

  •       Prepare/present displays of children's work.
  •       Support class teachers in photocopying and other administrative tasks in order to  support learning and development.
  •       Register/attendance morning and after school.

Skills and Experience

  •       Support the aims and ethos of the school.
  •       Administer simple First Aid.
  •       Good oral communication skills
  •       Ability to work as part of a team
  •       Forest Schooling.
  •       After school club.
  •       Home Visits for new pupils.
  •       Attend special School Parent/Pupil Events.

  •       Prepare rooms/play areas each day/evening.
  •       Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.
