About the role:


We are planning significant growth in our Design Assurance Services in the UK Electricity Transmission market and are now seeking a Design Assurance Portfolio Lead to join our team.


  • As Design Assurance Portfolio Lead, you will be an integral part of our Client Account Team and provide a technical leadership role in delivering Design Assurance projects in the transmission sector across the UK. You will be close to Authorisation or already hold TP141 Authorisation in either HV Plant, Protection and Control, Cables, Civils or Overhead lines. You will be responsible for developing strong relationships, primarily with National Grid (NG) and with Team Leaders for other disciplines.
  • You will be instrumental in driving growth in our business and will help us to deliver our business strategy by helping to ensure projects are technically and commercially sound. You will also help to ensure that we are developing our technical teams and ensuring compliance, technically excellence and learning and development needs are being met.

You will:


  • Take a major role in motivating and developing strong client relationships.
  • Supporting and mentoring Technical Delivery Teams in Design Assurance Projects.
  • Define and prioritise team development needs and training requirements.
  • Be the point of contact for client technical standards, specifications and requirements and communicate them effectively through the business.
  • Work with Account Leaders and the wider management team to ensure we maintain a strong resilient and technically excellent delivery team.
  • Addressing Client issues and fulfilling their aspirations.

About you:


  • Demonstratable knowledge of National Grid's Technical Standards and Specifications
  • Preferably TP141 authorised but may be close to obtaining authorisation.
  • Excellent communicator and keen to be involved in Business, Growth and Development planning.
  • General support to the business units.
  • Responsive to market challenges.
  • Compassionate point of contact for colleagues.
