    Job Summary:

    The Corebridge Bermuda Compliance Officer role is responsible for providing compliance and compliance risk services to support the Corebridge businesses located in Bermuda. Candidate is required to have working knowledge of insurance operations, Bermuda Insurance Code of Conduct, Bermuda Proceeds of Crime Regulations, Bermuda Sanctions Regime, Bermuda Personal Information Protection Act and local (and global to a lesser extent) legislative and regulatory environment, including Proceeds of Crime Act of 1997 and Proceeds of Crime Regulations of 2008. The position works closely with business leadership and requires an engaging personality.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish, monitor, manage and review compliance with Bermuda legislative and regulatory frameworks covering Compliance risk areas
  • Manage and oversee the Corebridge Bermuda compliance program (e.g High Net Worth, Reinsurance, etc)
  • Assist the Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Privacy Officer for Corebridge Bermuda entity
  • Maintain suite of Corebridge Bermuda Compliance policies/standards/manuals.
  • Conduct annual compliance risk assessment
  • Support the development of materials for Corebridge Bermuda Compliance Program updates to Corebridge Bermuda Board and Committees of Board
  • Prepare compliance responses for regulatory filings
  • Monitor Bermuda regulatory alerts and changes to the regulatory environment
  • Maintain and enhance the Compliance internal control framework as it relates to applicable regulations and regulatory guidance, Corebridge Global Compliance Policies, and Corebridge Bermuda policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business leaders and internal/external stakeholders
  • Provide guidance to Corebridge Bermuda employees on Compliance matters
  • Act as the Compliance subject matter expert for Internal Audit and Compliance Monitoring and Testing reviews of the Corebridge Bermuda businesses
  • Perform local Compliance training for Corebridge Bermuda
  • Provide oversight to, and primary support for, regulatory projects, as needed
  • Other duties as required

  • Resources assigned to the Corebridge Bermuda Compliance Program
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 + years' experience in a Compliance, Legal or Regulatory position, preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Significant experience and understanding of insurance industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing Corebridge Bermuda insurance businesses
  • Ability to interact with local regulator and have some influence
  • Experience managing anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing program for regulated financial institutions
  • Experience managing sanctions and politically exposed person programs
  • Experience reporting to Boards, Committees of Boards and Sr. Management preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively and cross-functionally within a highly-matrixed organization with employees at all levels
  • Experience with problem solving and use of analytical skills
  • Ability to influence and create buy-in
  • Ability to confront conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive and proactive manner
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and presentation skills including the ability to interpret and communicate compliance guidance internally
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment
