How you will make Plan Zero happen

We support clients reduce the environmental impacts of their buildings, their operations and their transport activities.

You will play a key part in this mission by advising clients on environmental strategies, Management Systems, training and initiatives to support their Zero Environmental Harm agendas.

What will you do day to day?
***The Environment & Sustainability Consultant will report to the Plan Zero Senior Consultant/Manager, while working closely with all members of the Plan Zero Consulting team and other relevant teams, as required by individual projects. You will be expected to deliver billable consultancy services to new and existing customers as required by specific engagements.

Typical advice you would be providing our clients includes:

Supporting clients to build and maintain their Environmental and Energy Management Systems (EMS/EnMS).
Supporting Mitie in developing new ways to control and interact with EMS and EnMS'.
Identifying solutions to reduce their environmental risks, carbon emissions and pollutants.
Educating customers on climate change, environmental compliance and decarbonisation.
Providing a holistic view of sustainability, including advice on environmental compliance, social value, pollution prevention, and ways to understand, report and analyse them, as well as to develop initiatives to reduce them.
Overview of innovations and technologies reducing environmental harm that are relevant to the customer's sector and industry.

As part of your role, you will be:

Managing multiple client-facing engagements on EMS', environmental compliance, sustainability and training.
Supporting the structuring and preparation of client proposals on EMS, sustainability and training services
Managing and mentoring junior consultants and analysts within project delivery teams to aid their personal and professional development
Producing impactful reports with findings and recommendations
Delivering client presentations and workshops to present project outputs
Delivering targeted, certified training to customers' personnel with Mitie support.
Structuring and reviewing data models to assess customer environmental and sustainability performance and forecast scenarios
Building close and trusted relationships with clients
Keeping abreast of market developments, trends and innovation to generate points of view that support our customers' needs
Reviewing work and outputs from more junior team members
Engaging with industry partners, competitors, academia and professional membership bodies through events, conferences, workshops, webinars
Continually seeking personal skills development opportunities to support improved job role performance and career progression within Mitie

Who will you work with?

The Plan Zero Consulting team is part of Mitie's Plan Zero team, the company's business unit responsible for driving the sustainability and decarbonisation agendas of our customers.

The role will play a pivotal role in supporting clients to accelerate their net zero journey through provision of strategic and advisory support, plus environmental training, across all relevant areas, including the built environment, EMS', energy procurement, transport, waste and biodiversity.

You will work closely with account and business development teams, ensuring early access to client conversations and early identification of client issues and challenges.
