Leicester (Whetstone) - Office Based

Working Hours: 40 Hours


Salary:
£35-60k

The Role

A Role has become available for a Design Engineer at an Engineering company based in Leicester. The Design Engineer will have a high level of industry experience to join their growing in-house design team. They are expanding, a dynamic company with the opportunityfor anyone who joins to develop and grow.

You will work alongside their in-house design team to create design concepts through to fully engineered, manufacturable products.

  • Have a minimum of 6 years' experience in a similar role(s).
  • A creative designer with strong mechanical engineering skills.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks CAD software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience in FEA analysis would be beneficial.
  • Proven experience of solving engineering problems.
  • An exceptional grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to create and present detailed design and engineering solutions to customers.
  • Proven experience of taking design projects from conception through to manufacture.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a sensitivity to the aesthetics of a product.
  • A strong understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Specifically, a good understanding of the injection moulding process.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with other departments within the company (tool room engineers, production team, sales team, etc.) throughout the development and manufacturing processes, as well as customers.
  • Selfmotivated with an enthusiasm to learn and develop.
