Successful applicants will have a passion to support and care for vulnerable children and young adults.Budwood support workers wear many hats A typical day includes facilitating key worker sessions; attending professional meetings; supporting young people to attend education; developing their independent living skills; maintain family contact, keep the houses safe and clean while supporting the young people's emotional wellbeing and helping them to keep safe and make positive choices.

Budwood has clear career progression paths, providing support and training for staff to progress to deputy managers and registered managers.
Our training programme is extensive - including a range of online and face to face training in attachment, trauma, mental health, safe care, and therapeutic parenting.
As well as completion of the Level 3 or 4 programme in Children and Young People in Residential Child Care.

The Support Worker requirements:
- MUST be over 22 years old
- To have experience of working / parenting children and young people
- To work 7 x 24 hours shifts and sleep ins over a 3 week period (9am to 9:30am the following day, including sleep in shift).
- To be friendly and supportive, and to have the ability to empathise with a nonjudgemental approach
- To be flexible and able to cope with stressful situations
- To work well as part of a team and be able to accept direction and guidance
- Have a full driving licence and you MUST have your own transport as this position will involve travelling.
Salary:
Up to £30,000.00 per year
