As the nation's flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It's something we've been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world's first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It's the spirit we share with the people who fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning, or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you're inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

    The role: Baggage Coordinator

Located in the Baggage Control Room (BCCR) at Terminal 5, you'll be representing British Airways' Ground Operations department in a multi-user control room environment. Maintaining the link between our operational teams and Heathrow's baggage systems operation, working collaboratively with external stakeholders such as Heathrow Airport LTD and Vanderlande to identify potential issues and develop practical solutions to protect our operating plan and sustain performance.

    What you'll do:

Identify & mitigate operational baggage issues whilst working collaboratively with the ops teams to balance performance and revenue.

Identify large groups of customers at risk of misconnecting; work collaboratively with all areas to protect performance and revenue.

Monitor the arrivals schedule, identify delays and short connects, and liaise with line areas to prioritise resources to manage the aircraft turn.

What you'll bring to British Airways:

Excellent IT literacy, compiled with exceptional communication and relationship-building expertise.

Ability to work under pressure within a dynamic operational environment is also critical.

    Your experience:

Experience in Baggage operations and system command and control processes is essential.

Experience in managing BAU and disruption events.

Experience in working within a multi-user control room environment.

Experience of BA Baggage operation at LHR or similar is desirable.

Possess a proactive and positive attitude taking ownership of any issues to deliver a resolution.

Inquisitive nature, wanting to interrogate data and develop solutions to improve performance.

    Strong understanding of airport systems.

Ability to hold an airside pass.

Full UK driver's manual license is valid for more than 06 months with 03 or more points(or equivalent) to enable an airside driving permit.

Willing and able to work shifts covering 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

    What we offer:

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It's one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary.

From the day you join us, you'll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights. You'll also receive up to 30 discounted 'Hotline' airfares per year for yourself, friends, and family.

At British Airways you'll have the chance to take on new challenges and move forward in a way that feels right for you. We encourage all those who work for us to consider opportunities right across our business to help you develop and progress.
