We are collaborating with a highly respected Accountancy Practice seeking an additional Assistant/Secretary to join their team at prestigious offices in East London.

You will work alongside audit managers and partners to offer administrative and compliance-based support.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare correspondence for client signature, including accounting packs and collating responses
  • Collate tax submission packs for HMRC and our tax team review
  • Submit accounts to Companies House via post and electronically
  • Assist with documentation and correspondence upload to audit files
  • Update office workflow databases
  • Contact new/predecessor accountants for professional clearance
  • Support monthly client billing by preparing draft invoices and sending them
  • Create letters of engagement for new clients
  • Conduct onboarding checks for new clients
  • Provide occasional office related administrative assistance
  • Coordinate team functions and staff diaries

Skills needed:

  • No accounting background necessary, but a keen interest in developing accounting knowledge and experience is beneficial
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to liaise with managers on priorities and deadlines

Additional information:

  • This is an office-based position
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 9.15am to 5.15pm
  • Must have easy commute access to the East London offices via public transport or car

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
