    We are currently looking for 3 Recovery Coordinators to join our dedicated Swindon service, emphasising on Family Safeguarding. You will ensure a high quality and consistent service to families with either drug and/or alcohol related issues engaged with Childrens' Services as part of the Family Safeguarding Service.

    The role is co-located within the family safeguarding teams of Swindon Borough Council, in which recovery coordinators work within a multi-disciplinary team of social workers, domestic abuse workers and mental health specialists. Your role is to support parents of children with social service's involvement, therefore you will be conducting home visits as part of your role.

    Hours: 37.5 per week

    Salary : £27, £31,529.41 pro rata (depending on experience)

    Contract type: Fixed Term

    This is a fixed term contract until 31st of March 2025.

    Responsibilities

    About the role:

    • To deliver outreach services to families promoting access for service users and concerned others
    • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
    • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
    • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
    • To adhere to CGL policies and processes in delivery of services – particularly lone working and health and safety related to working with complex service users.
    • To undertake focused work with families of interest.
    • To provide rapid and flexible interventions where required to meet the needs of the service users.

    About you:

    • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
    • Experience of safeguarding and working in the substance misuse field.
    • Knowledge of the issue facing families where substance misuse is present.
    • Good knowledge of local community based support practices.
