This role will suit someone who sees themselves as a proven agile coach and leader with a passion for delivering quality and value, setting the tone for their team through proactive behaviour, while ensuring that best practices and processes are applied.
Main responsibilities
- Within an Agile delivery team collaborate with members of IT, the Office of the CDO and the wider business to drive delivery of innovative clientfacing products and experiences.
- Coordinate and facilitate team meetings including, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, daily stand ups and release planning activities.
- Own the delivery of sprint goals, ensuring that the team keeps focused and committed to the goal throughout the sprint.
- In partnership with the Product Owner, create and maintain product backlogs, brokering discussions between the Product Owner and scrum team as needed.
- Assist the team with making appropriate delivery commitments by means of story selection, task definition, refinement processes, and removing blockers.
- Empower the team to selforganise and facilitate a collaborative working environment with emphasis on individual responsibility.
- Mentor team members to adopt an agile mindset, including ownership, selfmanagement and empowerment.
- Define relevant KPIs and use these to measure the performance of the development process, reporting on the performance of the scrum team.
- Guide the team members to achieve optimum productivity through continuous process improvement.
Essential skills and experience
- Professional experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Manager or Agile Project Manager using the Scrum Methodology.
- Experience of working in a software development environment.
- Solid knowledge of product delivery fundamentals and project management practices within an Agile framework.
- Experience with bestpractice Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment.
- Experience managing interdependencies between agile teams and of delivering products both with internal development teams and suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of people and project leadership.
- Experience with Azure Devops and Jira / Atlassian; administration of sprints, delivery of dashboards, reporting, wikis.
- Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (definition of done, user stories, backlog refinement).
- Knowledge of frameworks that support delivering agile practices at enterprise scale (AgilePM, SAFE etc).
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards at the end of each sprint.
- Experience of guiding development teams to a higher level of scrum maturity.
- A recognized scrum master qualification is preferable.
