Overall, M&J Group's turnover stands at £55 million. We are currently looking for a talented Construction Estimator to join our team at our Bedford head office.

Department Overview:

Our Construction Division manages a variety of projects, with a significant portion being undertaken in the education sector. funded by the.

Our portfolio includes competitive tender projects in the education sector, such as fire compliance, envelope refurbishment, structural repairs, M&E upgrades, full refurbishments, and new builds.

Office Hours: 8 am - 5 pm (1 hour lunch)

Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed estimates for a range of tenders, including new build extensions, refurbishments (internal and external), fire safety projects, boiler replacements/upgrades, safeguarding measures, windows & doors, and drainage/civil works.
Collaborate with a team of surveyors to interpret tender documents, issue highquality subcontract enquiries, and evaluate quotations to ensure compliance with client requirements.
Attend site visits with Surveyors during the tender stage and with the Projects team during the delivery stage, though the role is primarily officebased in Bedford.
Utilise your understanding and experience in various trades to contribute effectively.
Exhibit a keen analytical eye and attention to detail.
Report to the Estimating Director, Construction Director, and ultimately the CEO.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field preferred but not essential.
Indepth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.
Proven experience in pricing projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting and explaining estimates to both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in delivering competitive tenders.
