We are working with United Learning to find a weekend Lettings Assistant to work at Manchester Academy (M14 4PX) assisting with groups hiring the sports facilities and carry out minor repairs.
This role would suit someone with good all round maintenance skills, good customer facing skills and the ability to manage their own workload.

Important Details:
- Salary is £15,564 / £12.47 per hour
- The role is all year round
- 24 hours per week
- Saturday and Sunday, working hours between 08:30 22:30 dependant on lettings bookings

Duties of the Lettings Assistant:
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors during out of school hours
- Be responsible for the safety and smooth running of lettings
- Use relevant software to monitor the lettings taking place each day and communicate with hirers
- Meeting and greeting hirers and dealing with any queries or requests
- Communicating with the Finance and Lettings Officer regarding any lettings queries as necessary
- Managing handovers between hirers
- Ensuring all facilities are left in a clean and tidy state after hire
- Ensuring facilities are secure at the end of each shift
- Assisting site team / hirers in moving furniture where appropriate
- Keeping a log of queries during your hours of duty and reporting to the team as necessary
- In between lettings, or at times where there are no lettings taking place you will be expected to undertake site duties including:
- Basic Joinery, Plumbing, Painting and Grounds Maintenance
- Janitorial and emergency cleaning duties when needed
- Porterage duties ensuring deliveries are made around school in a timely an efficient manner
- Taking part in relevant training, including First Aid and Fire Marshal training
- Attend and participate in meetings when necessary
The Lettings Assistant Must:
- General maintenance skills to a good 'DIY' level
- Awareness of Health & Safety regulations appropriate to the role / school
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the school community, specifically with the ability to deal with members of the public and hirers in such a way as to promote and enhance the reputation of the school
- Ability to use Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel
- A good general level of IT literacy
- Methodical approach to tasks with good organisational / planning / prioritisation skills
- Good level of general fitness sufficient to work around a large multilevel building
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to work flexibly
- Be able to work outside the usual working hours on occasion
An Advantage but not Essential:
- Be able to work outside the usual working hours on occasion
- Handyman / DIY experience
- Experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of general building maintenance and repairs
- Appropriate trade qualification
- Plumbing, Electrical, Joinery
- Evidence of further development in building related services
- An understanding of relevant legislation concerning safeguarding.
- Emergency First Aid at Work qualification (or a willingness to undertake relevant training)
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English & Maths at Grade C / Level 5 or above
