We are working with United Learning to find them a Permanent Marketing Executive to join their team at Salford City Academy.

United Learning have a great reputation as an employer who invests in training and development. Salford City Academy is a forward thinking 11-16 school staffed by a committed and welcoming team.

You will be part of the Salford Marketing hub alongside 3 Marketing Executives at neighbouring Salford schools, reporting to the Area Marketing and Communications Manager.

You will manage communications for Salford City Academy raising awareness of the school'sacademic excellence and offering for students, maximizing the number of student admissions by co-ordinating effective campaigns, and elevating the school's reputation within the local community.


This role would suit someone with at least one year's experience of managing social media and creating great digital content.

Duties of the Marketing Executive:


  • Acting as the brand guardian and working to brand guidelines for all communications and platforms
  • Working with the Area Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver strategies that will increase pupil numbers
  • Project managing multiple campaigns and events, liaising with staff
  • Managing the digital marketing for the academy via website, social media, internal TVs, and other platforms ensuring consistency of branding
  • Managing the updating of the academy calendar
  • Ensuring marketing materials represent the academy branding and promote a professional brand image
  • Developing and managing the academy brand's social media identity
  • Creating written and visual content across several social media platforms
  • Increasing social media engagement across platforms
  • Monitoring KPIs such as link clicks, likes, and other metricsof social media marketing campaigns
  • Owning the academy website
  • Coordinating website compliance
  • Auditing the website content on a regular basis with the Area Marketing & Communications Manager
  • Ensuring the website is an effective tool for the recruitment of prospective students and staff
  • Developing a library of highquality photography and video for the promotion of the academy
  • Writing compelling content for the website blog, newsletter, and press releases to raise awareness of the academy
  • Designing professional high quality marketing materials to support the communication of key events in the school cycle including admissions, transition, options, parents' evenings
  • Supporting the primary liaison network with high quality marketing materials ensuring all planned activities are monitored and evaluated
  • Editing, proofreading, and improving content supplied from key staff members and external agencies/organisations
  • Utilising relevant communications channels to broadcast communications effectively to different stakeholders
  • Working with United Learning's press agency to write and distribute releases and develop media contacts
  • Managing events for academy hosted events, ensuring good promotion, and maintaining a network contact list of external parties and attendees
  • Leading the project management of and attending all PR and student recruitment events

The Marketing Executive Must Have/Be:


  • Extensive experience of social media marketing for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn
  • Experience of event planning
  • Strong writing skills
  • Great organizational skills i.e., ability to monitor multiple platforms and juggle several projects concurrently
  • Flexible attitude towards work
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent keyboard skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise workload, work as part of a team and take direction where necessary
  • Educated to GCSE level including English and Maths at Grade C or above.

An Advantage but not Essential:


  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
  • Hold a relevant marketing degree
  • An understanding of relevant legislation concerning Safeguarding
  • Experience of working with a social media scheduling platform
  • Ability to study and interpret marketing analytics
  • Knowledge of Canva or Acrobat Professional, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign or similar
  • Experience in working with a website CMS and updating and maintaining website content
  • Experience of content creation e.g. iphone photography, video, blog writing
