    The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is launching an open call for Team Leaders and Technical Experts. We will contact the potential candidates about assignments related to the FCDO Global Development Delivery (GDD)

    Framework in addition to wider FCDO-funded contracts.

    IRC is one of the successful GDD Framework Suppliers in Lot 2 Health and Humanitarian (High Value) and Lot 3 Education, Gender and Social Inclusion (High Value).

    IRC will be expected to deliver cutting-edge global programming across the following major areas:

    Lot 2 Health and Humanitarian- global health security and global health architecture strengthening; health systems strengthening and work towards ending preventable deaths of mothers, newborns and children and enabling women and girls to exercise their rights; humanitarian assistance; future shocks prevention and resilience to underlying drivers of humanitarian crises.
    Lot 3 Education, Gender and Social Inclusion- education system strengthening; education in conflict, protracted crises, emergency and refugee contexts; ending gender-based violence; gender equality mainstreaming; Social system strengthening; inclusion, social norms and behaviours.

    The IRC is seeking national and international candidates to fill the following roles:



    • Team Leader(s)

    • Deputy Team Leader(s)
    • Technical Director(s) These roles will be based in host countries, dependent on the location of the funding opportunity/call-down. Further details on contract type, salary and benefits package will be provided to selected candidates on a call-down basis.
    These are senior positions which require outstanding leadership, critical thinking, organisational and representational skills.

    We are eager to hear from senior leaders with:


    • Demonstrated experience (8+) in complex programme design and delivery, including in fragile and conflict-affected states (FCAS)
    • Proven experience leading FCDO/UK government international development programmes (preferably commercial contracts)
    • Experience with management of consortia of international and local partners
    • Ability to perform at a senior management level, including managing staff in a matrixed system with a focus on adaptive management
    • Substantial experience working within FCDO/OGDs' operational footprint in developing countries and/or fragile and conflict-affected countries
    • Strong skills in programme design and development, advocacy and networking with international and national institutions and development agencies
    • Experience and ability to provide leadership and direction in harnessing the multi-disciplinary skills of the technical personnel and consortium partners
    • Fluency in English required
    • Prior experience as a Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, Technical Director or similar role for FCDO will be advantageous
    • For Technical roles, extensive technical experience working in initiatives related to health and/or education, gender and social inclusion in development and humanitarian settings, will be crucial
