  • Could you be the face of Essex Wildlife Trust at our Thorndon Nature Discovery Centre?Our friendly and passionate team at Thorndon play an important role in providing fantastic customer service to our visitors to the Trust. Situated in Thorndon Country Park, the site offers a variety of habitats including ancient woodland, parkland, ponds, a marsh and meadow. There are some stunning ancient trees including Giant Oak and Hornbeam pollards, that are reminders that this was once a deer park. Parts of it used to be heathland, now a scarce habitat in Essex, and to restore it parts of the park, both north and south, are being grazed by goats and sheep.


The post holder will need to be a team player who can engage in a friendly and professional way with our visitors working across the Centre in retail, food and beverage - ensuring excellent customer service always at the forefront.

We are looking for a friendly individual with an interest in nature and wildlife to join Essex Wildlife Trust in this visitor engagement role.

Our profits from the Nature Discovery Centre's are used to fund the conservation, educational and other work key of the Trust.

The role is permanent part-time working eight hours per week over Saturdays and Sundays. The salary is £4,475.73 per annum (FTE £20,980).
