The Oxford Department of International Development is seeking to recruit a research analyst with strong quantitative skills to assist with the analysis of data on research projects related to the private sector in Africa.

The successful applicant will support two projects on private sector development in Africa. The first on the effect of the development of the electric power sector in Africa on growth of firms. The second examines career trajectories of mid
- and high-level managers in the private sector in Africa. The projects are in collaboration with researchers at Lagos Business School, NYU, the Geneva Graduate Institute and other institutions.


The successful applicant will hold, or be close to completion of, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics or related disciplines with a quantitative focus.

They will have demonstrable ability to carry out independent quantitative research, including strong excellent skills in statistics/econometrics (using Stata, R and other relevant programming languages).

They will also have excellent oral and written communication skills and a systematic, thorough and well-organised approach to work, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

This post is full-time and fixed-term for 24 months.
